The seadoo manual I have suggests using seadoo lube on the impeller/wear ring to reduce the initial friction until the lapping is complete but I think some light oil or liquid dish soap would work as well. This is assuming the impeller isn't being held atrociously tight by the wear ring and the engine can actually be started.

I have a 2014 90 HP Spark. I just had a Solas 12/17 impeller installed, and a new stock wear ring. Before the install the highest top speed I would see was 50-51, As claimed it did pick up 1 MPH so now I see 52 MPH. This was over the weekend on rather choppy water as well. I weigh 165lbs.
